Engagement Model

Kisel has a flexible engagement model, making it possible to offer the optimal model based on customer needs. Kisel can offer:
  • Complete projects
  • RF IP for standalone RF or SoC integration
  • Co-development
  • Design optimization at block level
  • Training and competence development

Depending on our customer’s needs and request, and the character of the project, the model can be based on:
  • Time and material
  • Fixed price
  • IP licensing

Kisel’s normal mode of cooperation involves close and long-term cooperation through the whole product development cycle with clearly defined responsibilities and expectations. Kisel is used to handle projects with a high level of innovation, asking for flexibility and ability to change and adapt during the course of the project.

Time and material
The “time and material” model is usually preferred for projects with a high level of innovation. When this model is used, the customer normally has full ownership of the resulting intellectual property (IP) and deliverables.

Fixed price
Fixed price is usually better suited for well specified projects with a slightly lower level of innovation and higher level of predictability. The fixed price is normally agreed at the end of the feasibility study when the design specification is written and accepted by the customer.

IP licensing
The IP licensing model is best suited for customers that prioritize to significantly reduce upfront R&D expenses and customers who have their core IP in other parts than the RF transceiver. This model requires significant volumes or that Kisel can see a wider market for this RF IP.
